David Jones has secured permanent price reductions of up to 50 per cent from its international suppliers.

The department store has announced its 'Lower Everyday Prices' program following ongoing negotiations with its global brands.

The savings have been secured across fashion, beauty, accessories, shoes, homewares and electronics.

The company revealed it had commenced a global Cost Price Harmonisation program in March.

The program aimed to address the "price differentials" that exist in the Australian retail sector when compared to international department stores.

David Jones group executive merchandise Donna Player said many brand partners have been able to reduce prices by improving distribution channels.

“Whilst we have made good progress to date in obtaining price reductions, the process is complex and will take time.

"We will continue to pass on price reductions as they eventuate from our negotiations with our brand partners.

"Having said that, we have made good progress to date in delivering price reductions across all our retail channels."

Brands enlisted include Nautica, Lacoste, 7 for all Mankind, Nudie Jeans, Armani Collezioni, marc by marc jacobs, DKNY, Michael Kors, Guess, Steve Madden and Olympus.

A list of brands and products is available via davidjones.com.au/ourpromise, which will be updated as new suppliers come on board.
