Industry speculation over the future of accessories chain Diva has reached a crescendo.
The retailer's website is currently non-operational and its retail network has been consolidated, with some sites rebranding to sister label Lovisa.
A May 30 post on Diva's Facebook page also noted structural changes.
It is believed the post was prompted by consumer confusion across its social media platforms, with followers speculating over the closure of the chain.
The official Diva Instagram page includes comments such as "Diva has shut down" and "Can somebody please explain why Diva is shutting down? So confused!!”
Parent company of both chains, BB Retail Capital, has repeatedly refused to comment on the matter to ragtrader.com.au.
Earlier this year, an industry source reported mass retrenchments at Diva's head office in Brookvale and revealed its South African franchise was now trading as Zuri.
BB Retail Capital did not return requests for comment.
Despite the rebrands and closures, including the termination of a concept store at Sydney's Westfield Parramatta, BB Retail Capital's website still notes its network as over 500 stores in 20 countries.
A well-placed industry source claimed BB Retail Capital is selling parts of the Diva business in addition to its consolidation program.
