Australian womenswear label Dissh has officially taken the lead on The Encoreship, a local internship program for women returning to work after a career break.
The initiative was officially launched by Tina Randello in 2021, who is the now-former chief commercial officer of Australian skincare brand Alpha-H. According to her LinkedIn profile, Randello took on an executive GM role at Vida Corp in June 2025, running its subsidiary Makeup Cartel.
Since taking on the reins, Dissh is calling on other Australian businesses across fashion, retail and lifestyle to get involved with the program.
The program provides real-world work placements, mentorship and professional development for women looking to re-enter the workforce after extended time away, often due to parenting or caregiving. Applications for participating businesses open this August, with successful intern placements (known as ‘Encorers’) scheduled to begin from October through January.
“Giving financial independence through finding employment is something we pride ourselves on being able to help others with,” Dissh owner and director Lucy Henry Hicks said. “Truth be told, nothing makes what we do matter more.”
As the lead brand, Dissh will manage the full program rollout, such as managing business participation and hosting professional development sessions for Encorers.
The Encoreship has also expanded to include two pathways for brand involvement, with one pathway offering paid placements and the other offering coaching.
Those currently offering paid placements include Dissh itself, Melbourne-based brands Kat The Label and Adore Beauty, Saint Valentine in Sydney, and wellbeing company Krumbled Group on the Central Coast.
Those offering coaching are Incu, Adore Beauty, Shameless Media, The Volte, MJ Bale, Misha and Holme Beauty, Vidacorp and Naked Harvest.
According to Dissh, by introducing coaching opportunities alongside placements, The Encoreship has welcomed a broader network of brand partners and expanded the ways in which businesses can contribute.
