Australian fashion brand Dissh has expanded its partnership with national charity Thread Together.

As part of the expansion, the brand will fund the installation of wardrobes and a capsule of new clothes across Australian shelters that focus on women escaping domestic or family violence.

This new initiative is aimed at addressing the gap for the immediacy of clothing when women and children arrive at the shelter.

Dissh has been partnered with Thread Together since 2021, donating excess clothing from the business.

“Female empowerment is at the core of everything we do,” Dissh CEO Lucy Henry-Hicks said. “These wardrobes offer more than clothing, they offer autonomy, confidence, and the support women need to rebuild.”

Dissh and Thread Together added this extended partnership also addresses the issue of textile waste.

Thread Together’s wardrobes are a tailored, on-site solution designed to meet the specific needs of vulnerable women and families in crisis accommodation.

"We are grateful to continue our partnership with Dissh, a brand that truly shares our commitment to dignity, empowerment, and social change," Thread Together CEO Anthony Chesler said.

"Together, we’re ensuring vulnerable women have access to brand-new clothing at a time when they need it most."

Alongside both financial contributions and clothing donations, Dissh staff also regularly volunteer at Thread Together’s fulfilment centre. Customers can also support the cause directly by adding a donation at checkout.

"Our partnership with Thread Together is a demonstration of what’s possible when purpose-led brands and social enterprise work together," Henry-Hicks added. "We hope it inspires other brands and the broader fashion industry to embrace the power of meaningful partnerships to drive real, scalable impact in our communities."
