Sydney-born fashion and lifestyle brand Deus Ex Machina has struck a partnership deal with international car brand MINI, designing the exclusive race livery for its John Cooper Works entry in the iconic 24 Hours of Nürburgring race set to take place in Germany later this week.

The 24-hour race is considered the longest and most difficult car race track in the world.

The competing MINI John Cooper Works will sport Deus Ex Machina's signature black-and-white palette with hand-drawn elements. The Bulldog Racing crew will also be fitted out in the brand’s new season apparel.

The partnership began when graphic designer and former New York Times Magazine Art Director Matt Willey was enlisted to reimagine the MINI Cooper S, drawing on the brand’s iconic Monte Carlo rally heritage.

Head of MINI, Stefan Richmann, welcomed the partnership with the Australian fashion brand.

"Thanks to this collaboration with Deus Ex Machina, we are setting new, exciting impulses for MINI fans and motorsport enthusiasts,” Richmann said. “Both brands are characterised by creativity and attention to detail, which allows the creation of exclusive designs with a distinctly individual style.”

The collection will make its first appearance at the race later this week on June 22 and 23. The car’s livery design has already been shared across social media.

The exclusive gear will also be launched globally in September at the IAA Mobility Show in Munich, which will also be made available in stores and online at Deus Customs’ European-dedicated website.
