Iconic local designers Kirrily Johnston and Camilla Franks have signed on for a fresh collaboration, to kick off next month.

Following a successful partnership with Johnston for more than three seasons, L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival (LMFF) sponsor and paint specialist Dulux has confirmed it will once again collaborate with the designer for 2013.

This year's tie-up will also see renowned print designer Camilla Franks, join the ‘United by Style’ initiative, which will run as part of LMFF 2013 from March 18 to 24.

Commenting on the initiative, Dulux colour and communications consultant Bree Leech said the collaboration will allow consumers to interpret the latest runway trends from both designers in their homes.

“The partnerships will translate the season’s styles into inspirational interior looks, that will be referenced so they can be easily re-created at home,” she said.

Johnston, for her part, will showcase her autumn/winter 2013 collection at L’Oréal Paris Runway Four, featuring trans-seasonal styles in shades of wine and bronze and accompanied by leopard and peacock prints.

She said the collection was inspired by the riches and royalty of the ancient Persian Empire, 'Babylonia'.

“This will be my fourth season partnering with Dulux and I am very proud of our long-lasting relationship. This year, I am excited to support Dulux as a key sponsor for the L'Oréal Melbourne Fashion Festival and to provide the inspiration for a fashionable Dulux interior from my a/w 2013 collection," she said.

"It’s fantastic to recognise designers and architects across the industry who use colour in innovating ways."

Similarly, Franks will show her ready to wear autumn/winter 2013 collection at L’Oréal Paris Runway Two in her first presentation as part of the series.

Franks revealed the collection will include a mix of printed silks and velvets, to reflect her travels, with key earthy tones and accents of tangerine and bright turquoise.

“I live my life and design my collections through colour. Dulux combines style and colour to create vibrant interiors that are fashion forward and on-trend with Australian designers, [so] I am thrilled to be a part of this collaboration,” she said.
