Celebrated designers Leona Edmiston and Akira Isogawa have joined a growing list of local talent locked in to showcase at a landmark event next week.
The duo have recently been confirmed as part of a star line-up for the fifth anniversary of community and industry event Fashion Palette, set to kick off on March 5.
Following a launch event on March 5, Edmiston and Isogawa will join other designers – including Alannah Hill, Nicola Finetti, Arthur Galan, and Bettina Liano – for the official runway show on March 7.
The event, at the Australian Technology Park in Sydney, will showcase a selection of Australia’s best established and emerging designers showcasing their spring/summer 2013-14 collections.
Other designers also locked in to participate, include: Mossee, Galanni, Zofara, Wild Pony, Saucy Rose, Twofolded, Gemili Power, Chi The Label, Sharnee, Niki Teljega and Mackenzie Mode.
Now in its fifth year, Fashion Palette director Sonya Mefaddi said the annual event is an opportunity for emerging and established labels to showcase their designs and connect with industry professionals consumers, media, and buyers.
Edmiston added that the event's position, ahead of other major fashion events – such as the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia – also offers up a point of difference.
“I’m excited to be a part of Fashion Palette this year and show a collection of the strong, vibrant prints and shapes I have for spring/summer 2013,” she said.
“Being first on the fashion calendar, Fashion Palette also brings such a unique mix of consumers, industry and media, giving them the first taste of what’s to come for an exciting season.”
The event also recently expanded into the North American market, with the launch of Fashion Palette New York (FPNY), via an exclusive Australian-only show at Canoe Studios in Manhattan, New York.
