We ask designer Michael Lo Sordo to preview collections at Rosemount Australian Fashion Week ahead of his solo runway show.

9am: I chat with Ragtrader editor Assia Benmedjdoub for a quick brief before heading to the central show venue, Overseas Passenger Terminal in Sydney.

10:30am: Bec & Bridge go for a more structural look this season, offsetting this with a Chrystler print, clean whites and flushes of floral.

11:30am: Alex Perry is the known as the king of couture and he delivers on his reputation. Bright block colours, sequin embellishments and billowing dresses throttle down the runway.

12.45pm: There's an emergency with my own range - which I'm showing in a matter of days! The maker calls to say there could be a delay on two last minute items due to a glut of orders. I miss several shows. All is sorted by 2.30pm and my collection is close to sign off.

3:00pm: Womenswear brand Morrison debuts at the event, offering block coloured cotton basics with a twist and some beautiful leather moments.

5:00pm: Friend of Mine is all about the young rocker girl - lots of biker pieces, short shorts and slinky tops.

6:00pm: Flannel offer something entirely different - soft, delicate classics for the thinking woman. There are neutral coloured silk separates, with ruffles and leather to break up texture.

7:00pm: Karla Spetic is the master of prints. This time she delivers them in strong cut-out silhouettes in pop brights. Lots of white keeps the look sharp.

8:00pm: Gail Sorronda serves up another tailored offering in classic black and white. There are some strong shapes and the styling is luxe goth - a very strong collection.
