Australian fashion brand Decjuba has announced it is now a certified B Corporation, marking the brand’s ongoing efforts around people and planet.

According to the brand, its maiden score is 80.5, which is just over the qualifying score of 80 and well above the median score of 50.9 for all businesses.

The B Corp certification is awarded to businesses that meet rigorous standards for accountability, transparency and performance, with re-certification every three years to support ongoing improvement. Decjuba was assessed under B Lab’s version 1.6 criteria, with the next version (v 2.1) being rolled out this year.

B Lab considers the new criteria to be a more rigorous, transparent, and globally aligned framework that strengthens how businesses demonstrate their impact and lead the way toward an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy.

B Corp certification measures the whole business, including retail stores, distribution centres, head office operations and global supply chains, as well as the people and community stakeholders of the business.

As expectations for transparency and accountability continue to rise – including with new sustainability reporting measures for large companies in Australia – Decjuba chose third-party verification to ensure progress can be measured, compared and improved over time.

“Becoming a certified B Corp shows what’s possible when every team unites with purpose,” Decjuba chair and owner Tania Austin said.

“It holds us accountable for how we operate today, and challenges us to keep improving as we grow. This certification isn’t the finish line.”

In Australia, there are around 590 certified B Corporations across all industries. Only a small number operate in apparel and fashion, with some of the more recent B Corp-certified fashion brands in Australia being VRG GRL (81.6), Princess Polly (86.8), uniform business Total Image Group (84.6) and ELK the Label (100.6).

“B Corp Certification gives us clarity,” Decjuba CEO Audrey Nania said. “It shows where we’re doing well, where we need to improve, and keeps us accountable for closing that gap. That transparency matters to our teams, our customers and the industry we’re part of.”

As part of its B Corp assessment, Decjuba’s operations were recognised across several key areas. This includes full visibility of its Tier 1 and Tier 2 factories, with all Tier 1 sites ethically audited and the factory list publicly available.

The brand has also been piloting Authentified as the first retailer to support the resale of pre-loved Decjuba garments.

Decjuba also donates 1 per cent of every sale to the Decjuba Foundation, its philanthropic arm, contributing more than $15 million to not-for-profit community organisations to date.

Meanwhile, over 30 per cent of Decjuba’s range is currently classified as ‘Decjuba Future Approved’, prioritising lower-impact materials, with targets to increase this year-on-year.

B Lab Australia and Aoteoroa/New Zealand CEO Andrew Davies welcomed Decjuba to its B Corp ranks.

“Fashion is one of the most complex industries in the world, and B Corp Certification reflects Decjuba’s willingness to step into that complexity, lead with impact, and do the work required to create better outcomes for people and the planet.

“Responsibility in fashion isn’t about perfection; it’s about showing up, being held accountable, and continuously improving. Decjuba’s certification is an important step forward, and we commend their commitment to raising industry standards.”

Decjuba is embedding the latest B Corp standards into its long-term strategy, with a focus on responsible sourcing, circular design, emissions reduction and human rights due diligence across its supply chain.

The brand manages over 140 stores nationwide and two online retail sites – one in Australia and another in New Zealand.
