Decjuba Foundation, the charity behind Australian fashion retailer Decjuba, is investing $3.6 million to Australian children’s mental health not-for-profit Smiling Mind for the next three years.
Decjuba CEO Tania Austin confirmed the investment is a significant one for the foundation.
“This investment is Decjuba Foundation’s largest to date and is significant within the broader philanthropy sector. We are funding Smiling Mind to do what they do best; deliver preventative and proactive mental health initiatives for Australian children and families.”
The partnership is part of a list of Decjuba Foundation targets for 2023, including the launch of three new charities in the next six months and its first-ever New Zealand charity partner.
Through the latest investment, Smiling Mind and Decjuba Foundation will launch an initiative called 'The Smiling Mind Generation' to provide mental health resources for families.
Smiling Mind CEO Dr Addie Wootten said corporate investments had a significant impact on charity ventures.
“Smiling Mind has had the vision for The Smiling Mind Generation for a long-time but no avenue to bring it to life.
“Not-for-profits can struggle to continue their life changing work when funding opportunities are short-term and tied to specific activities. Investments like the one the Decjuba Foundation is making in Smiling Mind makes long-term and sustainable impact possible to achieve.”
