New Zealand-born accessories label Deadly Ponies is set to open its second Australian store in Myer Melbourne.

The new site on Little Bourke St follows the brand's first foray into the Australian bricks-and-mortar market with its first store in Armadale.

The store openings come after the brand has enjoyed consistent growth in the Australian market, thanks to a measured approach to expansion.

Founders and directors Liam Bowden and Steve Boyd said the business has always wanted to have a store network in Australia.

"The dream to open stores in Australia has been one I’ve had for a few years now, and I’m excited to see the dream realised," Bowden said.

"We’ve seen the enthusiastic response from our Melbourne customers with the opening of Armadale, and now we can’t wait to bring that same energy into the central city.

"While the brand has been established for over 15 years now, this feels like the start of a new journey for DP, and I’m looking forward to what’s next," he said.

The Myer Melbourne store will house the latest Deadly Ponies collection, as well as an exclusive capsule collection of pieces from past seasons.

The space has been designed by Katie Lockhart, who has collaborated with the brand on previous projects.

The store pays reference to design elements in the Deadly Ponies Armadale store, and features an impressive window display, a large blue and yellow floor rug and high-backed gold velvet-upholstered armchairs.

Additionally, a feature lightbox houses a debut work by local florist Gina Lasker.

The Deadly Ponies Myer Melbourne store will open on December 08.
