David Jones is set to open its first international store.
The department store has confirmed it will take over the historic Kirkcaldie & Stains store in Wellington, New Zealand.
The store will open by mid-2016 and marks the first international move by the 177-year old retailer.
Kirkcaldie & Stains staff will be offered employment by David Jones.
The move marks a series of changes under new parent company Woolworths.
The South African-based retail giant recently revealed a seven-point plan to deliver $160 million to David Jones in the next five years.
This includes the addition of more private label collections, improvements to its loyalty program and increase online revenue.
