Cue Clothing Co. has announced it is now first Australian fashion retailer to offer Alipay and WeChat pay at every standalone store nationally.

The rollout was made possible with RoyalPay, Australia’s first fully integrated cross-border payment solution, allowing Chinese customers to shop at Cue, Veronika Maine and Dion Lee using their mobile payment platforms.

WeChat is one of the largest social media and messaging platforms in the world, with over 900 million daily active users.

WeChat Pay is an integrated function within the app and allows users seamless access to pay with their local currency, Yuan, when shopping in Australia.

Alipay is the third largest payment platform in the world and has over 500 million users.

Cue CIO Shane Lento said the introduction of Alipay and WeChat Pay to Cue, Veronika Maine and Dion Lee stores nationally, opened up a whole new customer base.

“We have seen continued growth from Chinese customers shopping with us, particularly over the Chinese New Year period.

"During this time, Australia was the biggest market for cross-border WeChat payments outside of Asia. It made sense for us to introduce these new and innovative payment methods nationally, across our large network of standalone stores.”

The technological payment option is now available across 57 Cue and 23 Veronika Maine standalone stores, and all Dion Lee boutiques across Australia.
