French-Australian couture designer Delphine Genin has been appointed as a Councillor to the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FACCI).
In her role as Councillor, Genin will help the FACCI promote and foster business relations between French and Australian companies and industries.
She will work with each state's Councillor - appointed from a range of industries - to develop and vote on national and local initiatives to build and develop business and trade relations utilising each Councillor’s expertise, experience and professional network.
"I am so pleased to join the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry as a Councillor for the state of Victoria," Genin said of her appointment.
"I look forward to continuing the great work of the Chamber to build and develop initiatives to strengthen the economic and business relationships between Australia and France," she said.
This isn't the first time Genin has given back to industry, launching online haute couture embroidery classes during lockdown.
Speaking on that initiative, Genin said that she wanted to share the rare skill.
"I wanted to share this revered and esteemed art form and honour the tradition of Les Métiers d’Art and the continuation of this rare savoir-faire.
"Our clientele are passionate and curious about the intricate work of our petites mains, and we were so excited to immerse them in the world of haute couture art embroidery," she said.
