A single loyalty programme is planned for Country Road Group and David Jones.

South Africa parent company Woolworths, which acquired the two retailers last year, has flagged customer relationships as a major growth opportunity for the pair.

According to Woolworths analyst reports, David Jones has customer data on 280,000 cards representing six per cent of customers and 19 per cent of sales.

This is compared to Country Road Group, which has 2.2 million customers representing 90 per cent of sales.

Deparment store competitor Myer is listed as having 5 million cards representing 70 per cent of sales.

The strategy is part of a five year strategy to deliver $160 million+ over the next five years for David Jones.
