What do 60,000 units of clothing, a landfill and Country Road have to do with one another?

Country Road has announced the latest stage of its 'Fashion Trade' campaign with Australian Red Cross.

The campaign aims to reduce the amount of textile waste that goes to landfill through a recycling program.

More than 60,000 pieces of clothing have been saved from landfill since the program began in 2010.

The latest five-day campaign kicked off on July 1.

As part of the initiative, a Donate the Clothes to Win component rewards customers by driving quality clothing donations to Red Cross shops.

Customers who donate their pre-loved Country Road clothing or accessories during the campaign will go into the draw to win a $100 Country Road gift card, with five lucky winners drawn each day.

The more Country Road pieces they donate, the greater their chance to win.

In addition to the draw, customers will also be rewarded with a $10 Fashion Trade voucher for every Country Road item they donate to a Red Cross Shop during the promotion week.

The voucher can be redeemed against their next purchase of $50 or more at Country Road.

Managing Director Sophie Holt said the campaign was a worthy cause.

“Donate Clothes to Win helps reinforce our focus on environmental and social responsibility,” she said.

“It educates our customers on the importance of reducing landfill through recycling, while raising funds for the Red Cross to continue their important work.”
