Cotton On Group has smashed a sales record by 300 per cent.

Cyber Monday has resulted in Cotton On Group's single largest day of online sales.

The Group recorded an increase of 400 per cent in sales compared to last year's event, as well as a 300 per cent increase on its largest online sales record to date.

It reported that 51 per cent of users accessed the site via tablet and mobile devices.

Cotton On Group said the US-led shopping phenomenon is growing in popularity across the globe.

Cyber Monday follows the traditional post-Thanksgiving peak retail period, kicked off by the Black Friday shopping sales frenzy.

Cotton On Group CEO Peter Johnson said the company recently launched a new, multi-million dollar platform.

"We are invested in ensuring our e-commerce platform is delivering what our customers want.

"The online shopping experience needs to be accessible, easy to navigate and work seamlessly with the demands of our customers’ lifestyles.

"We’re thrilled by the Cyber Monday results as it reassures us that the site is delivering what our customers now expect from us online."

The Cotton On Group participated in Cyber Monday by offering its Australian and US customers 30 per cent off full priced items across all brands.

Since its October launch, the new website has attracted an average of over 2.2 million visits each month in Australia alone.
