Australian-born fashion retailer Cotton On has opened its first store in Manhattan, New York.

The Manhattan location is at 512 Broadway and is situated amongst other global fashion players including Lululemon, Levi’s, and Zara as well as department store Bloomingdales.

It joins four other locations - including one outlet - in the surrounding metropolitan area of New York City.

The 1,850 square meter space will sell Cotton On, Cotton On Body and Rubi ranges, alongside Cotton On Foundation products with 100% of proceeds from the latter going towards its global projects that support education, mental health and environment.

“Our in-house design teams worked hard to preserve this location’s heritage while bringing to life our brand DNA,” Cotton On Group wrote on its website. “With finishes inspired by our hometown, Geelong, Australia, this new store, located in the heart of Soho’s retail precinct, features warm timber tones, heritage denim jackets and a tiled entryway.”

Cotton On was born in 1988, with its first store opening in 1991 in Geelong. The brand now operates 1,500 stores across 22 countries.
