On August 2 2013 we sent a newsletter
with the headline “TFIA Fires Up Again” (also published on our
website) which Yaffa Publishing Group acknowledges could have been
defamatory of Michele O'Neil, the national secretary of the Textile
Clothing & Footwear Union of Australia (“Union”), and could
have been understood to suggest Ms O'Neil is subject to a Fair Work
Commission investigation into the misuse of funds belonging to members
of the union. That is not correct. We wish to make it clear that Ms
O'Neil is not and has never been under investigation by the Fair Work
Commission and if that was conveyed we apologise for any hurt and
embarrassment that the publication may have caused her.
