Myer fashion power broker Judy Coomber has jumped ship to Premier Investments.

The department store today announced Coomber, group general manager merchandise, has resigned from her position.

Meanwhile, Premier Investments has revealed Coomber's appointment to the role of group general manager for Peter Alexander.

Coomber was responsible for Myer womenswear, Miss Shop, childrenswear, intimates, shoes, accessories and cosmetics.

Coomber will commence her new role in late February 2013.

Myer group general manager merchandise Adam Stapleton has been appointed to lead all merchandise teams.

Nicole Naccarella, head of womenswear since 2009, will take on the additional responsibilities of the youth, childrenswear, footwear and accessories, intimate apparel and concession businesses.

Coomber has had a 30-year career in Australian retail including roles at Myer, Roger David, Hallensteins and the Sportsgirl/Sportscraft Group.

Premier Investments chairman Solomon Lew described Coomber as one of the most "experienced and dynamic" executives in fashion retail.

“Judy is the perfect fit to lead Peter Alexander as we invest in its growth over the next few years."

Myer CEO Bernie Brookes also credited Coomber's contribution to the department store.

“Judy has made a great contribution over her six years with Myer, she has worked tirelessly on the turnaround of Myer from an unprofitable business to a leading Australian retailer. We wish her well."
