Group48 – the Australian owner of Colette by Colette Hayman, TDE and Barcs Australia – has just acquired Vimwood, a local fashion and accessories distributor.

The acquisition expands Group48's portfolio with Vimwood's established range of children's licensed and proprietary house brands. The distributor holds a range of brand licences, including Barbie, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, Batman, Harry Potter, Hot Wheels and Spiderman.

The supplier distributes to more than 3,500 retail doors across Australia and New Zealand.

This acquisition follows Group48's purchase of Colette by Colette Hayman and The Daily Edited (TDE) 12 months ago, both which fell into voluntary administration after its former owner collapsed. Both brands are now back in operation, with Colette hosting 13 spaces across David Jones.

"This is an exciting milestone for Group48 and an important step in our long-term growth strategy," Group48 CEO Marc Reid said.

"Vimwood has built a respected business with an impressive portfolio that complements our existing brands and capabilities.”
