The City of Sydney is continuing its Business Innovation Program designed to up-skill local enterprises in 2023.

Twenty businesses will be selected to take part in the free initiative, which includes training around digital through a partnership with digital consultancy firm Disrupters Co.

Eligible businesses include independent SMEs with less than 200 employees in retail, hospitality or tourism.

The course will commence on May 1 and the sessions will run for 12 weeks. They include workshops, group activities and one-to-one coaching.

“We established the Business Innovation Program to help brands across our area explore opportunities, nurture an entrepreneur mindset, and develop resilient business models,” Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore said.

“This is about equipping businesses with the latest innovation methods, helping them to review their operational processes, and providing them with the tools they need to scale their business.

“We’re looking for participants passionate about growing their business and open to adapting and exploring opportunities that can lead to a successful and sustainable future.”

The Business Innovation Program was launched three years ago and has trained 70 local businesses.

Applications are currently open and will close at 5pm on Monday, April 3, with sessions running from May 1 to July 24.
