Which fashion force has staked an Australian etail first ahead of Christmas?

The Iconic has revealed plans to “redefine the online shopping experience”, with the etailer set to offer free same-day delivery right up to Christmas Eve.

The move marks an Australian online retail first according to the company, and will be carried out via an innovative click & collect delivery option through partner ParcelPoint.

The new partnership will provide The Iconic customers to pick up their purchases from a preferred local store at no additional cost.

Shoppers will also gain access to ParcelPoint’s 1,200 trusted metro and regional locations, seven days a week and after hours.

The service will be integrated into the checkout giving customers more choice in delivery with SMS or email confirmation will sent to the customer when the order arrives, ready for pick up.

The initiative will take place across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane from Monday, December 16, 2013. The free same-day delivery will also be available up to 6pm each day for Sydney metro residents, and up to 11am for Melbourne/Brisbane residents. A minimum order value will apply.

Commenting on the tie-up, The Iconic co-founder and managing director Adam Jacobs said the move would enhance customer convenience of additional collection points supported by unprecedented delivery times over Christmas.

“Our customers are our first priority at The Iconic and we are continually looking for innovative ways to make shopping online more convenient. We know from listening to our customers that home delivery isn’t for everyone so we’ve found an alternative through our partnership with ParcelPoint which means you never have to wait around for a parcel again,” he said.

“Coupled with free same-day delivery right up to Christmas Eve, we are proud to be challenging the boundaries of online retail so we can offer convenient, reliable choices for our customers that fit into their lifestyle.”

ParcelPoint CEO Adam McArthur added that the partnership was a perfect fit.

“ParcelPoint is delighted to partner with The Iconic to offer their customers more delivery choice with our 7 day-a-week, extended-hours parcel collection service. The ICONIC customers can now pick up their fashion orders at a local store convenient to them, when they want. No more missed deliveries or calling cards,” he said.

“We share The Iconic's vision of delivery innovation, and are focused on creating better online delivery experiences for customers.”

The two initiatives follow yesterday’s announcement that The Iconic’ has secured another set of high-profile investors.

As reported on ragtrader.com.au, the company received US$20 million from privately held investor group Access Industries, funds managed by US-based asset management firm Scopia Capital Management LLC, as well as other institutional investors.
