Catch has announced the expansion of its fulfilment network, with a new 36,000 square metre site set to open in Q1 next year.

The Moorebank plot in greater Sydney will become the third fulfilment centre (FC) for the eTailer and will be Catch's first FC outside of Victoria.

The project is expected to provide 120 jobs between construction and operation and will help the eTailer better serve its 1.5 million customers.

Catch MD, Pete Sauerborn said that the announcement would benefit its customers across Australia, particularly in Queensland and New South Wales.

"We are thrilled to be opening our first fulfilment centre in New South Wales, expanding our national footprint and helping our customers get the products they need when they need them, right across Australia.

"The Sydney fulfilment centre will allow us to serve customers more quickly and efficiently, particularly in New South Wales and Queensland," he said.

According to Sauerborn, the site will be more technologically advanced than its counterparts, opening equipped with a suite of technology enhancements.

The launch of the tech-equipped Moorebank site follows the successful rollout of 100 robots at Catch's Truganina FC

"The Moorebank fulfilment centre will be our most technologically sophisticated centre to date," Sauerborn said.

"We are thrilled to be able to create high-tech jobs of the future while building, operating and maintaining the state-of-the-art facility that will enable Aussie shoppers to receive their purchases more efficiently, reliably and quickly than ever before," he said.
