Canada Goose will open an expanded flagship at Westfield Sydney in November, adding to a local footprint that has grown each year since the brand entered Australia.
The flagship builds on the Westfield Sydney site where the Canadian outerwear label first launched with a pop-up in late 2023. Canada Goose opened its first permanent Australian store at Chadstone in February 2024, and now operates three permanent stores across Sydney and Melbourne.
Canada Goose APAC president Dan Binder said the business is focusing on its existing Australian stores and the flagship launch before further additions.
The flagship follows the recent opening of Canada Goose’s Chatswood Chase store, the first in Australia to feature the brand’s new luxury retail concept. The 254-square-metre store sits on the centre’s dedicated luxury floor, unveiled earlier this year as the final stage of its $625 million redevelopment.
Binder said the redevelopment gave Canada Goose a prominent position alongside other international luxury brands, along with the chance to debut the concept locally. Developed with Norwegian architecture and design studio Snøhetta, the concept has previously been rolled out in Paris, Milan, Chicago and Vancouver. The Chatswood Chase store includes a private VIP area for personalised styling appointments and works by Inuit artists from the Canada Goose Art Collection.
Canada Goose leads its Australian retail rollout, while Brand Collective, its local partner since 2023, manages commercial operations, eCommerce and retail networking for the brand.
“Brand Collective has been a highly valued and effective operational partner in these efforts,” Binder said. “We look forward to continuing our successful partnership as we further establish Canada Goose in the region.”
Binder said customers across Australia are now buying into the brand across more seasons and categories, while Canada Goose has expanded its gross margin and improved profitability globally.
“Canada Goose has successfully evolved into a year-round luxury brand,” Binder said. “Together, those results are building a stronger, more productive, and more profitable business.”
Earlier this year, the brand also hosted its first APAC expedition, a four-day trip to Karijini National Park in Western Australia’s Pilbara region, built around its Natural Intelligence brand platform.
