Sydney-born fashion label Camilla has opened a pop-up boutique in The Rocks, taking up residence at 140 George Street beside the Museum of Contemporary Art.

The store officially opened last week and will trade until early 2027, spanning the precinct's weekend markets, winter season and summer trade period.

The fit-out adapts elements of Camilla's Hotel of Curiosity flagship concept, including hand-embellished tapestry work and a champagne bar styled as the cash desk.

Founder and creative director Camilla Franks said the precinct's history and creative community made it a fitting location for the brand.

"The Rocks has a certain spirit: layered, curious, and alive with stories, which beckons to locals, art lovers and international travellers alike,” she said. “There's something about it that's always felt like the right kind of neighbourhood for us.

“I'm honoured to be bringing our signature blend of rich storytelling, layered print and considered craftsmanship to Sydney's oldest corner, right beside the MCA, the new home of Australian Fashion Week.”

A grand opening event is scheduled for Saturday 20 June, with private styling appointments, a DJ set and refreshments offered to guests.

The pop-up follows Camilla's collaboration with New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art, which the brand described as its most commercially successful partnership to date.

Camilla was founded in Bondi Beach in 2004 and now sells in more than 55 countries, with around 26 boutiques in Australia and seven in the United States.
