Busby Holdings, the parent company of Busby Trading, Busbrand and Brand Republic, has announced the departure of managing director Simon Nankervis, with newcomer Andrew Bousie to take over as CEO.

Nankervis, who has served as managing director, and co-founded Busbrand in 2002, will step down from the role next month to relocate overseas, but has indicated that he will still remain a non-executive director of the group.

He said his decision to relinquish his position at the group, which he has grown from its initial two stores to the 60 that stand today, was bittersweet.

“It’s been a bittersweet decision to step away from my role as managing director of a company I co-founded,” he said.

“I have a keen interest in the business, which is why it’s important to me that I remain a director. I feel very comfortable leaving the business in Andrew’s capable hand and look forward to helping the company continue to flourish.”

Nankervis' replacement, Bousie, will commence his role at the company on November 1, in the newly-created position of chief executive officer.

His fashion retail experience includes a long-standing career as general manager of both Esprit (2006-2011) and the Colorado Group (2000-2006).

Busby Holdings specialises in the Australian wholesale and retail management of international brands. The brand portfolio includes fashion footwear brand Aldo, Carlton, Benetton, Gap, Guess, Sisley, Travelite and Tumi.
