Online shopping club brandsExclusive has signed up to a new partnership in an effort to boost its brand awareness further for the summer months.
The company, which already has a member base of over two million people, has confirmed it has become the principal sponsor for the 2012-13 season of the Opel Moonlight Cinema – the country’s largest outdoor cinema event.
The deal follows a similar move by fashion etailer The Iconic, which earlier this year announced its sponsorship of the Australian Turf Club and the Sydney Spring Carnival.
As part of the tie-up, brandsExclusive co-founder Daniel Jarosch revealed that the company has also organised a range of entertaining activations ensuring that guests at selected screenings will be going home with a gift.
“We are very excited to be involved in this iconic Australian event which we believe aligns perfectly with our brand. It was a natural partnership as our site engages with a broad mix of Australians on a national scale on par with Opel Moonlight Cinema,” he said.
“Through this sponsorship, brandsExclusive will ensure guests have a memorable experience by setting up a range of fun activations for all to enjoy in the relaxed atmosphere for which Moonlight is renowned.”
This year, the Opel Moonlight Cinema will showcase a mix of advance previews, recent releases and classic films during its three-month period.
Highlights of the program include Ang Lee’s adaptation of Yann Martel’s novel 'Life of Pi', indie coming-of-age film 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' and the highly anticipated 'Les Misérables'. The program will also feature classic favourites such as 'Breakfast at Tiffany’s' and 'Dirty Dancing'.
BrandsExclusive currently has more than 80,000 members joining each month, and stocks more than 800 local and international fashion, footwear and accessory brands. Over 2.5 million items have been sold via the platform since its launch in May 2009.
The Opel Moonlight Cinema 2012-13 season will kick off on November 29 in Adelaide, and will run across various capital cities and locations, ending on March 31, 2013 in Sydney.
