An online shopping force with ties to Bloomingdale's and Macy’s has confirmed the local launch of a foreign initiative.
Shopbot, one of the largest and most established price comparison websites in Australia, has today announced the launch of Australia’s first 'Black Friday' super sale.
The event will kick off a 24-hour shopping frenzy, which will see leading brands offer top products at exclusive discount prices online at blackfriday.shopbot.com.au. The giant sale will include fashion, accessories, electronics, health, beauty, baby, toys, food, drinks, sports, leisure, home, pets and garden products.
The 'Black Friday' concept originated in the US where, to mark the beginning of the Christmas shopping season major retailers open early and offer huge discounts to shoppers.
Shopbot Asia-Pacific sales director Neil Thomas, however, said its high-time the concept was introduced on Australian shores.
“Previously, Aussies have had to wait until the Boxing Day Sales to get the best bargains. We wanted to go one better, and give them access to these kinds of discounts before the Christmas season,” he said.
“For shopaholics and deal hunters, Black Friday is the best time of the year to find the perfect Christmas gifts, silly season outfits and summer holiday essentials, while also saving money.”
Participating retailers include Bloomingdale's, Macy’s, oo.com.au, Crazysales.com.au, Dirt Cheap Cameras, Duty Free Central, with more big name brands to be announced in the lead up to the 'Black Friday' event.
Shopbot, established in 2004, is one of Australia’s largest and most established price comparison websites. The website works with retailers to upload, list and compare millions of products for consumers to shop and save more easily.
The platform currently lists pricing information for more than one million products, which are available through thousands of retailers’ online and bricks-and-mortar sales channels. More than 1.8 million Australians use the site every month to compare prices and products.
