Bonds launches re-commerce marketplace

Australian apparel brand Bonds has just launched its own official marketplace platform focused on re-commerce of its own goods.

According to the brand, it is tapping into a “massive” pre-loved market for its baby and kidswear.

The new Bonds Village Marketplace will allow parents to buy, sell and trade used clothing directly through the brand’s primary website, utilising an add-on tool from Treet.

The move comes after internal tracking revealed over 30,000 unofficial Bonds listings across third-party Facebook buy, swap and sell groups and eBay, which collectively hold more than 70,500 active members.

Bonds Village Marketplace will offer sellers payment in cash or Bonds vouchers.

“At Bonds, we know that quality, comfort and community matter to families,” head of marketing Kedda Ghazarian said. “Our new Kids & Baby marketplace gives pre-loved Bonds items a new lease of life, making it easier for parents to pass on pieces they’ve loved and discover quality items for their own little ones.

“It’s a simple way to keep great products in circulation for longer and celebrate the village that supports families through every stage of growing up.”

The Bonds Village Marketplace officially went live on September 1, and can be found under the ‘Pre-loved’ tab on Bonds’ main navigation bar on the website.

The platform will launch with a focus on core high-demand categories, including the iconic Zip Wondersuit, newborn gear, and kids’ clothing.
