Mature-market womenswear label Black Pepper is set for a brand relaunch.

The clothing label, established in 1976, is set to relaunch for summer with a new creative direction, tagline, website and ambassador.

Black Pepper GM Rachel Digby said it is time to revive the "go-to" brand for women aged 60+.

“The time was right to give the brand a bit of an refresh and consider what we could do  differently."

Black Pepper has enlisted former Australian supermodel, Isabella Cowan, to be its new brand ambassador.

In the 80’s, Cowan was touted as one of Australia’s first supermodels, gracing the cover of Vogue five times in 1980 and appearing in 24 consecutive editions of the magazine.

Digby says Cowan, now 54, is a perfect fit for the brand.

“We wanted to reflect our customer’s optimism and energy in our marketing.

"We’ve updated the branding and look and feel to make the brand more stylish and aspirational; while still being very achievable.

"Just because a woman is 60, it doesn’t mean she doesn’t want to be stylish.

"Isabella is the perfect fit for us.

"Her natural beauty is breathtaking but it’s her positive attitude that makes her the ultimate Black Pepper woman.

"She breathes new life, energy and confidence to the brand. We’re thrilled to have her on board.

"She truly is a superstar and the consummate professional.”

Black Pepper operates over 130 stand alone stores and over 500 wholesale accounts.
