One is from Primark. The other is from Adidas. Both are leading a fashion revolution at discount department store Big W.

Big W general manager buying and merchandise Lesya McQueen will reveal how the store is changing as part of Ragtrader Live 2014.

The event will be staged at Randwick Racecourse, Sydney on August 12.

McQueen, formerly of Adidas Group and Walmart Canada, is working with head of womenswear Yvonne Nugent,  formerly of Primnark and A Wear to lead a new fashion revolution.

Here is a preview of some of the ways BIG W is ramping up its offer.

What have been the major changes or additions to the BIG W fashion offer?

We are offering a range of good, better and best product to our customers. Peter Morrissey is out better/best brand with prices ranging from $15-$49.

Peter Morrissey offers our customers fashion, style and the ability to wear designer clothes without the designer price tag.

Lee Cooper is our casual equivalent in the better/best range and is anchored around a fabulous fitting denim offer with great casual prices mixed in.

Our Emerson range - an everyday fashion brand that delivers great value everyday basics for every member of the family - continues to offer fantastic low prices for new season fashion items and great quality basics.

We have also introduced an extension to our Avella plus size range. We have worked with Chrissie Swan to develop this range.  

The Intimates brand is called  Chrissy Swan for Avella  and consists of a range of bras sizes 18-28DD - J cup.

The price range is $29 -$34. A range of Chrissie Swan for Avella clothing has also been launched.

 What is the strategy for this area of the business moving forward?

Our strategy at BIG W is to offer fantastic low prices, which are essential for our customers, as well as exceptional value for money fashion that suits our range of customer lifestyles – from smart, to smart casual, and every day, etc.

What's ahead for the future?

BIG W is changing for the better. We are the affordable fashion destination with big brands. We have some exciting plans to launch more new brands during the next six months. Watch this space!
