Best & Less Group CEO Rodney Orrock will be taking a three-month period of medical leave from the company.

BLG Non-Executive Chair and former MD Jason Murray has been appointed Executive Chair with immediate effect.

Murray confirmed he would take on the responsibilities of the CEO. 

“We are supportive of Rod’s decision to take a period of medical leave and we wish him all the best with his treatment and recovery.

"Rod is a tremendous colleague and leader and I know that I can speak for each of ourmore than 4,500 team members in saying we stand united behind him and his family at this time.

"Rod will be able to use the next three months to prioritise his health and we look forward to his return.

"Our business is in strong shape and the BLG leadership team is one of the most capable and experienced teams in the retail industry.

"The Company remains focused on trading through the important Black Friday and Christmas trading periods and executing our growth strategy.

"I have been in this business for many years and feel that the opportunity for us as a differentiated specialty value apparel retailer has never been greater.”

Murray is an experienced retail industry leader, having previously led Best & Less Group as Managing Director from 2012-2018 and again from 2019-2021.

Earlier, he served as CEO and Managing Director of Just Group for more than four years, following a 10-year career as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company.
