In celebration of its 100th anniversary year, Australian intimates brand Berlei has collaborated with experimental silkscreen print artist Kate Banazi.

Having previously collaborated with Dion Lee and Qantas, Banazi said “it was a no brainer”, as she is an avid wearer of Berlei’s sports bras.

The designer has created four exclusive prints for the SS17 range.

“The patterns are an extension of my ongoing developing artwork based from life drawings and the relationships of people, of they lock together of overlay," she said.

"Colours are complimentary but contrasting to show depth and lie over one another showing support or foundations of what has come before."

The result is a series of designs branded ‘Banazi Wave’, which play with interlocking grids and shapes.

Banazi was born and bred in London, but now hand prints in Sydney, taking up residence in her studio in Sydenham.

She is internationally recognised for her silk screen prints, which use bold colour and graphic elements to explore themes approximating energy and movement.

The range will be available in July 2017 at Myer, David Jones, Rebel, Berlei online, Harris Scarfe and a range of independent retailers.

Prices start at $59.95 RRP.
