Melbourne ethical fashion brand and social enterprise The Common Good Company has launched a new range of beanies, made from 100% recycled plastic.
The two unisex styles come in three colours and are sustainably designed and ethically made from Repreve yarn, which is spun from 100% recycled post-consumer plastic water bottles diverted from landfill.
The beanies expand on the brand's collection of sustainable apparel, which is also created using recycled materials and ethical practices.
The Common Good Company co-founder Tessa Carroll welcomed the launch of the eco-friendly beanies.
"Each year 150 million tonnes of single use plastic is produced and discarded.
"That’s why we have partnered with Repreve to make our beanies using 100% recycled water bottles, to divert plastic waste from ending up in landfill and the oceans.
"Most importantly, it means that no virgin oil has been used to create the fibre.
"As well as being good for the environment, our beanies look good and are super warm and comfy," she said.
The beanie styles, 'Olaf' and 'Rex' are available now and retail for $45 and $40 respectively.
Olaf is available in navy and black while Rex comes in beige and black.
