Bayside Shopping Centre has launched a Street Style campaign, aimed at leveraging its high streetwear tenancy.
Bayside is home to iconic streetwear brands such as Edge Clothing, Neverland Store, Platypus Shoes, Foot Locker and Peninsula Surf Centre to name a few.
The two week campaign invites customers to spend $150 or more at participating retailers to receive a $20 voucher to be spent back at any of the streetwear retailers within the month of August.
Helping to bring the street atmosphere in-centre is a skate ramp mural situated on the Ground Floor at Bayside.
Painted by Melbourne street artist Callum Preston, from the renowned Ever Fresh Studio based in Collingwood, the mural will feature as a “photo opportunity” for customers to share across their social channels.
Also featuring through the Centre is bespoke street art pieces from the Frankston Arts Collective, a collaboration curated by the Frankston Arts Centre by Maria Pena and Antonella Ripani.
The works are interactive allowing customers to take photos to seem as if they were part of the creative.
Customers who upload to their Facebook or Instagram accounts and use the hashtag #BaysideStreetStyle will go into the draw to win a $1,000 streetwear prize pack featuring items from participating retailers.
Bayside will also launch a series of activations on August 6 and 13 across the centre.
It will include DJs, food samples, a photo booth, and personalised key tags by local street artist, Sheldon Headspeath from State of the Art 3199 (12pm-3pm) in the Centre.
Continuing an ongoing relationship, Bayside will engage local youth from the Brotherhood of St Laurence Employer Engagement division to work alongside promotional staff throughout the campaign, providing them with an opportunity for work experience to add to their resumes.
The first two Saturdays of August will also be dubbed Streetwear Saturday, bringing to life activity within the
Centre.
Between 11am – 3pm on Saturday 6th and Saturday 13th, customers can take a photo at the skate ramp and street art, enjoy the tunes of an in-house DJ, indulge in food samples and be treated to customised key tags by local street artist, Sheldon Headspeath, from State of the Art 3199.
