Balenciaga, Issey Miyake and Lanvin are among a raft of luxury brands headed for Australia via a new sales channel.
The online arm of luxury retail giant Club 21 has confirmed its official entry into the Australian market.
The company has also appointed Sydney-based firm Hush Communications to manage its local launch.
Established in 1972, Club 21 manages wholesale distribution, sourcing brand guardianship and vertical retail for a number of international luxury brands.
The company said the extension of its online business was the next strategic step in conquering the Australian market.
Club 21 has operated brick-and-mortar sites across Australia for more than 14 years.
The ten retail outlets include as A/X Armani Exchange, Calvin Klein platinum label and most recently, Mulberry.
Club 21 Online general manager Linda Locke said the company has big plans and high expectations of the market.
“Our extensive retail experience in the region and the local market coupled with the extensive market research we conducted on the Australian consumer market made it a natural choice for expansion and growth,” she said.
Locke said Club 21 Online has been operational for two years.
“We felt this is the right time to enter a major market like Australia which has one of the highest internet and smartphone penetration markets and mature e-commerce purchasing behaviours."
Locke said Club 21 Online will also look to take it slice of the market by luring customers via enticing membership schemes.
“With our robust membership programme, we will be able to grow our customer base, provide desirable membership benefits and experiences and continue to engage them.”
Over the last four decades, Club 21 has managed over 250 brands across nearly 400 stores in Australia, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the USA.
Club 21 Online Australia brands include 3.1 Phillip Lim, Balenciaga, Issey Miyake, Carven, Christopher Kane, Calvin Klein platinum label, Comme des Garcons Shirt, Marni, McQ Alexander McQueen and Lanvin.
