Premium multi-brand boutiques will be the focus of freshly appointed local distributors for Pierre Balmain, the diffusion line of luxury Parisian label Balmain.
Nick Mascitelli Imports has confirmed department stores are not on the agenda as it looks to establish the brand across Australia and New Zealand.
Balmain Paris announced it had partnered with Ittierre Spa to launch the men's and women's diffusion line earlier this year, scheduled to launch in 700 stores worldwide during spring/summer 2012.
Dubbed as 'decidedly downtown', the launch collection features tailoring, dresses, knitwear, leathers, jeans and casual essentials with prices starting at €120 for t-shirts and peaking at €650 for suits.
The brand has adopted a digital strategy for the brand, creating a series of digital films for online and social media platforms and an e-commerce launch flagged for 2012.
Balmain designer Olivier Rousteing will not oversee the new venture, which will have its own independent design team and officially launched in Milan on October 2.
