Inner Melbourne district the City of Stonnington will induct Kookai founders Danielle Vagner and Rob Cromb into the 2016 Fashion Hall of Fame.
Industry mentor Robert Buckingham will also be honoured at the event which will take place in front of a host of VIP guests next week at The Como Melbourne, South Yarra.
Buckingham launched the city's Fashion Design Council (FDC) in the 1980s as a platform to promote independent designers.
He was also the founding creative director of the Melbourne Fashion Festival from 1996-2003.
Vagner and Cromb launched the first Kookai boutique on Melbourne's Chapel St in 1992.
It now operates 38 stores across Australia and New Zealand.
The City of Stonnington encompasses major fashion and shopping destinations in Melbourne including Chapel St, Chadstone Shopping Centre, High St and Toorak Road.
The induction will take place on Wednesday September 7.
