Sir the Label, Camilla & Marc, and Rachel Gilbert will join a list of other brands in a pop-up store at Melbourne Central for the 2023 PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival.

Called ‘Wardrobe Play powered by Rntr.’, the pop-up will run from February 25 to March 11, where consumers can hand select, try-on and rent vintage, archive and made-to-order pieces.

Founded by Shanya Suppasiritad, Rntr. is an online platform that provides brands with the software and operational backing to launch rental services on their own websites, while also providing a platform for consumers to hire designer pieces via its website.

The GPT Group senior marketing manager Sara Aiezza, the property group for Melbourne Central, said the group is continuing to lead the way across major shopping centres in Australia.

“Whilst the concept of clothing rentals isn’t new, integrating this into the in-person shopping experience is,” Aiezza said.

“The GPT Group are proud to work alongside both PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival and Rntr. to facilitate such an exciting experience that supports retailers and upholds sustainable and circular fashion initiatives.”

Alongside the Rntr pop-up, Melbourne Central will play host to PayPal Melbourne Fashion Festival’s ‘Fashion Talk: Future-Proofing Fashion’ on Thursday 9 March at 6pm.

A panel of five women in fashion will discuss the intersection of circularity, consumer trends and brand growth and how Australia can ensure long-term sustainability and resilience for fashion businesses, the economy and society.

The panelists are Valentina Zarew, founder of fashion sustainability company Newromantic, Fashion Journal digital editor Cait Emma Burke, Fashion label Shona Joy COO Danielle Millar, Ramp Tramp Tramp Stamp (RTTS) founder Niamh, and Rntr. founder Shanya Suppasiritad.
