Major Australian brands including Seafolly, Ginger & Smart and Carla Zampatti are the latest to jump on board with sustainability.
Ethical clothing label The Social Outfit has divulged that the brands have donated excess fabrics and sundries from their previous season and shipped them to the start-up.
The Social Outfit CEO and founder Jackie Ruddock said that the donations are mutually beneficial for brands and consumers.
“We see it as a win-win because customers like to support the Australian manufacturing industry and the manufacturers don't want to see fabrics go to waste".
According to Ruddock, Seafolly has donated excess metre rolls of lycra used to make swimsuits that has been used to make leggings, skirts and dresses by the label's collaborative designers.
Other Australian labels have also donated to the drive include Cue and Alice McCall. Ruddock has also confirmed that Carla Zampatti has accepted an appointment as The Social Outfit ambassador and will continue to bolster support for the start-up in her role.
