Camilla + Marc, Dion Lee and Ellery are among a selection of designers to take centre stage in Paris.
This week marked the first Australian Designers Abroad, an initiative which services to highlight Australian designers during international fashion weeks.
The event was hosted in partnership with the Australian Embassy in Paris, the Australian Fashion Chamber (AFC) and Ambassador Stephen Brady.
The industry showcase featured six Australian designers: Camilla + Marc, Dion Lee, Ellery, Michael Lo Sordo, Strateas Carlucci and TOME.
Each designer presented four looks from their latest collection in a live installation.
The installation replicated behind the scenes at a fashion photography shoot, with models and mannequins.
Australian Designers Abroad event presented an opportunity for international media, buyers and the fashion industry to see Australia’s strong design talent.
AFC chairman Edwina McCann said this is an important opportunity for designers.
"The future for the Australian fashion industry is bright – both the established and emerging talents are creative, intelligent and global.
"With consistent mentoring, training and support we can build the Australian fashion industry to a greater scale than ever before."
Ambassador Brady said Paris was an ideal platform for the event.
"It was natural for us to host this event which contributes to the promotion of Australian originality and sophistication in Paris, the ‘capital de la mode.’"
