It operates 140 stores across Australia - but its newest store will set a new national blueprint.
Payless Shoes Australia, a division of US-based Payless ShoeSource Inc, will debut a new look when its opens its Westfield Warrawong store next month.
The store will reflect the updated look and feel of the US Payless ShoeSource stores.
It will offer a comprehensive range of shoes including sandals, wedges, flats, canvas sneakers and boots.
Payless Shoes managing director Mark Jeffery said this is a first for the market.
"We are excited to be able to bring the first opening of our new store format to our Warrawong and surrounding area customers.
"The new store will replicate the experiential elements of Payless stores around the world and offer a fashionable range of footwear options for the entire family."
Payless Shoes Australia opened its first store in Sydney in 1980 and currently operates more than 140 stores throughout Australia.
It was acquired in March 2013 by Payless ShoeSource, Inc. based in Topeka, Kansas.
Payless Warrawong will be the newest of the 4,400 Payless stores that already exist in more than 30 countries around the world.
