Hello Kitty head designer Yamaguchi San paid a visit to Sydney yesterday to launch the collection of the label's collaborative collection with Bondi Bather.

The 78 piece collection will launch online for pre-order before landing in local and international retail stores with prices starting from $75.

The partnership was formed by owner and operator of the Hello Kitty brand Sanrio with a strong focus on being 100% Australian made.

Sanrio Global Ltd. SVP Sandrine de Rapside said that the company is thrilled to strengthen its ties with Australian brands.

“Sanrio are thrilled to be partnering with Bondi Bather and launching one of a kind Hello Kitty products which above all else are 100% Australian made.

“Much in the same way, we are working with Ugg Australian Made since 1974.

“Localization is an important element of our creative partnerships and we're so happy to have had Haven Licensing help us join forces with so many meaningful and gifted partners in Australia."

A morning tea was held at beachside venue The Bucket List to officially launch the collection, hosted by Australian model and former Miss Universe Australia Tegan Martin with guests receiving an exclusive hand-illustrated Hello Kitty autograph from San.

The collection was first unveiled earlier this year at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia (MBFWA).

Bondi Bather currently operates a flagship store, e-commerce platform and an increasing wholesale business.

Sanrio reports a branded product portfolio of around 50,000 distributed to 70 countries.
