Ethical activewear label Dharma Bums has expanded its business into the UK with dedicated UK website and local logistics facility.

The label was launched in November 2013 by fashion designer and yoga teacher Debbie Lawson.

The UK and Europe have emerged as the biggest international growth market for Dharma Bums to date with approximately 10% of online sales being attributed to these regions.

Lawson said making the first purchase from a brand located on the other side of the world can be a significant obstacle.

“By opening regions sites with fast delivery direct from local distribution we aim to remove those obstacles," Lawson said.

www.dharmabums.co.uk went live on 11 September 2016, with UK-based logistics centre to ensure fast shipping and returns across Europe.

Despite the unpublicised soft launch, Lawson said Dharma Bums has seen triple digit growth in online sales within three weeks.

“With the positive rise in sales seen since our launch into the UK in early September our expectation is that within three to six months UK sales will have exceeded Australia," she added.

Over the next six months, ongoing testing will take place to ensure procedures are inline with the local Australian business model.

A third website and logistics centre then set to launch in the US, followed closely by Hong Kong to service the Asian region.
