Atomic Group, the company behind Sportsco, has added another retail chain to its portfolio.
The Melbourne-headquartered business has acquired Comfort & Fit, a chain of orthopaedic and comfort footwear stores that cater to both adults and children.
Atomic Group has acquired 21 Comfort & Fit stores as well as exclusive distribution rights to comfort footwear brands Finn Comfort, Xsensible, PW Minor, Carl Semler and DB Shoes.
Atomic Group first flagged the acquisition in late 2010.
“The Atomic Group is focussed on extending our success of Sportsco within the branded technical active segment and are very pleased with the addition of Comfort & Fit to our expanding portfolio,” the company said in a statement.
“We look forward to integrating, growing and positioning Comfort & Fit as the ongoing leader within the health/wellness space, providing our core customer with an exclusive and compelling offer that meets their needs.”
Atomic Group is also the parent company of sports apparel business Sportsco, which has over 70 stores across Australia and New Zealand, and the local distributor for Italian fashion label Freddy.
