Asos has finalised a local initiative first launched in the US market to great success.
The online retailer has appointed 20 student brand ambassadors for the 2014 academic year.
As reported on ragtrader.com.au, the search for ambassadors commenced earlier this year via a four-stage application process.
The students have now been appointed, with one ambassador to win an eight-week internship to work at Asos' global head offices across London, New York and Sydney.
Australian marketing manager Jo Shapland said the role involves executing activations on campus and creating content for the global Asos Student page.
"Students are such an important audience of our brand and we would love to tap into their world on a much deeper level," Shapland said.
"It's why we're looking for these ambassadors - so that we can co-create relevant and compelling student content and then share that content with a much broader audience."
Asos student ambassadors will also take part in The Hundred Project which launched at O Week this year.
The year-long initiative challenges students to wear 100 different outfits throughout the university year.
University of NSW Asos ambassador Jessica Cheung was among over a thousand entries across Australia.
“Asos are offering so many amazing opportunities to students that aren’t being offered by any other brand - I am excited to grow my photography skills and look forward to seeing how I grow with the program.
"I can’t wait to bring Asos to UNSW and see where this program takes me," she said.
