Online shopping giant Asos has made another move on the Australian market.

The firm has appointed a dedicated marketing manager for the region, to work alongside local press agency Golightly PR.

Prue Thomas will join the etailer from June 18, reporting to Australian country manager Sally-Anne Newson, who was appointed late last year.

Thomas comes with three years experience as strategic brand manager for national chain Sportsgirl.

Thomas is credited with driving a number of new digital strategies, visual merchandising and marketing campaigns, as well as various music and fashion festival sponsorships at Sportsgirl.

Thomas also worked as Topshop head of marketing for six years.

Australia continues to be the leading international market for Asos, with an Australian consumer making a purchase from the UK-based vendor every nine seconds.
