Australian retail training program Numensa Online Foundations of Buying and Merchandise Planning is reporting an increasing international following since its launch in July.
Listing Sussan and Sportsgirl as clients, global retailers such as Toys'R'Us Japan and Little Switzerland in the Carribean are also among those who have purchased licenses to access the program.
The training course aims to provide an interactive and self-paced space online with downloadable checklists and discussion questions to give retail staff the opportunity to hold discussions with a line manager or mentor.
It uses a fictitious retailer 'Navicorp' to demonstrate the merchandise management function.
Numensa Asia-Pacific director Beverley Chambers created the program after acknowledging a lack of training in the retail industry could be effecting the competitive nature of the market.
The company has now launched another training scheme Retail Financials which will aim to improve the financial acumen of today's retailers.
The online programs are available to purchase under both single and multiple user licenses for a six month period.
Cost of licenses start from around $175.
