Outdoor wear retailer Arc’teryx is continuing its Australian expansion, opening its first-ever store in the Australia Capital Territory.
This adds to six other retail locations for the brand in Australia, including two in full price stores in Melbourne, two in Sydney CBD, a standalone in Hobart, and an outlet at Moorabbin Airport south east of Melbourne.
Arc’teryx VP of store development Chris Pelyk said this also adds to two other key openings globally.
“It’s been a whirlwind month for Arc’teryx across the globe, and we’re thrilled to share some incredible milestones,” Pelyk shared on LinkedIn.
“We’ve just opened our very first store in Australia’s capital – Arc’teryx Canberra bringing the mountain spirit to the heart of the city. Over in the UK, we’ve planted our flag in Manchester, our first store outside of London, in a city known for its creativity. In Beijing, we’ve launched the Arc’Lounge inside the iconic Peninsula Hotel – a refined space where community, design, and performance come together.
“Three bold new doors in three dynamic cities – each one a reflection of what we can achieve together. A huge shout-out to the teams who made it happen.”
The Arc’teryx business sits under Amer Sports, a global group of performance wear brands. This also includes Salomon, an activewear brand currently scaling retail locally.
In the first quarter of 2025, Amer Sports’ revenue increased 23 per cent to US$1.47 billion. Across categories, technical apparel increased 28 per cent to US$664 million.
Outdoor performance increased 25 per cent to US$502 million. Ball and racquet sports increased 12 per cent to US$306 million.
